Creative teaching during a pandemic takes some serious re-thinking. We spoke with Harmon Middle School Band Director Mason Smith and Aurora High School Band Director Eddie Nabring about their innovative new orpheus approach to concert orchestra.

Social distancing requirements did not allow for much time in the music room or on the stage, so both conductor teachers shifted to a more music theory approach for the year, which in turn will benefit their musicians in an entirely different way than practice time alone.
